JACOB - DESIGNER

I've always been project driven - Dad was the craftsman and Mom was very creative - she would often drag me to the local craft bazaar. Seems like we always had a project going on around the house. During college I was invited to visit a friends furniture studio where i discovered new tools and materials that lead me into the design world. During this time i learned metal and woodworking techniques, small scale production, and marketing my designs to various trade shows. Lots of trial and error and through some very patient mentoring - i learned valuable lessons that allowed me to pursue and create whatever i could imagine.

In 2002 I found myself living on a large estate in the hills of BelAir Los Angeles, CA operating a luxury high end Italian furniture/interior design showroom. For the next 16 years i learned new lessons from my highly respected mentors about real estate, luxury retail operations, high end Italian craftsmanship, interior design, home staging, product packaging/delivery/shipping logistics while working with many talented designers, developers, architects, celebrities and high-end clients.

Why Beds?

I've worked with every product in the home furnishings business - there's a lot of opportunity for unique design in this home furnishings category.

Is it a curse or a blessing? A musical artist can hear a sound and turn that into a hit song - A fashion designer can see a fabric and turn that into a fashion trend. I see things every day that inspire me to design. There are too many boring beds around - I hope to inspire and shock the industry with a different outlook on the modern bed.

Beds by Jacob is focused on designing and building BEDS (that is until we start dreaming about nightstands)
